About The Event
Our political moment finds many questioning whether our dominant political parties can provide a meaningful vision of the good life that is responsive to the needs of everyday Americans. How can third parties be part of a productive political conversation in America? How does election reform and ranked-choice voting, limits on gerrymandering, and term limits relate to opening up new spaces for a more vibrant politics? What are the difficulties third parties face in getting on the ballot in North Carolina?
Join us for a rare panel discussion involving The Forward Party, Justice for All Party, and Libertarian Party. The talk will be moderated by Matthew Williams (Organizer for Triangle Heterodox Club).
Discussions about the continued relevancy of a two party system to a modern context, how election requirements limit third parties' participation, and the merits of ranked choice voting, proportional representation systems, and other election reforms will be discussed.
